* Want to feel more confident and self assured?

* Want to feel more in control of your life?

Here are Some Tips to affect Speedy, Positive Changes:

Lack of self-acceptance affects us all, to some degree, and is behind much of the conflict and confusion in our lives and in the world. Each one of us can make a difference through self-acceptance. Yes, we can! EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique, a simple tapping with your fingers on meridian points on your face and upper body while using self-talk and affirmations can be life-changing. The tips in this article can be enhanced with EFT, however they have benefit and can stand on their own.

Has anyone in your life really accepted and loved you exactly the way you are? And conversely, have you accepted anyone in your life, exactly the way they are?

How can others accept you – if you don’t accept yourself?

Self-acceptance comes before anything that you can do, especially trying to get rid of your perceived “flaws" and hoping to accept yourself afterwards. When will you feel “good enough?" when will you be happy? When will you get to glimpse your brilliance? It may seem to be always just out of reach, just around the corner…. When this, then that… and not a minute sooner. That thinking just doesn’t work.

What Does Work?

Here’s a secret. The way to find deep self-acceptance is to fully accept others. You do this by forgiving them all their shortcomings, by accepting them the way they are, by not judging, condemning or criticizing them at all. Not for the way they look, how they speak, or what they do. Forgive them, accept them. Easy to say, hard to do, but it does happen with persistence and practice. If you cannot perceive forgiving someone who has grievously hurt you, simply bless them; bless the part of their heart that remembers who they really are, not the hurt and lashing out person they are portraying now. It's a freeing exercise for your own benefit, not theirs. Remember that old adage: "Holding resentment is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die."

You have perhaps learned that the things we do not like or that irritate us in others, are traits that we do not like in ourselves. When you can forgive and accept others for their perceived wrongs, the forgivenessand acceptance flows onto ourselves.

Certainly you will want to work on yourself as well. The energy flows both ways. Like attracts like. And speaking of energy, remember the Law of Resistance, a Universal Law: What you resist, you attract. What do you seem to attract in your life that you wish were not there? Check your resistance levels to that. The Law of Attraction is a hugely powerful Universal Law. You will attract the thoughts you predominantly hold in your mind. Be aware of what's going on there. Be angry, attract angry people. Be full of gratitude, and attract more of the things you are grateful for. You get the idea.

Use EFT to Heal Yourself

By using EFT tapping on your face and body meridians, any affirmations (self-talk) you use, is more effective. It helps to unblock the blocks that have occurred with physical and emotional traumas in your life. We’ve all had them. It affects your energy flow, and illness and emotional distress can result. The memories don’t disappear; they just lose their power to hurt you any longer. See link below for a free EFT Tapping Chart.

The Flip Side

Certainly you have negative issues residing in your being. Try dealing with them directly. Identify each self-doubt, each thing about yourself you don’t like, and tap for each concern, or group of related concerns. Exaggerate them for greater effect while tapping. These concerns, when addressed, can be dropped down to a non-concern without the power to affect you.

A Challenge

I challenge you to try one week without complaining and without judging others, and see what happens to you.

Note from Judy: I have tried this non-complaining/judging/forgiving exercise for several years now, and more recently so has my hubby, and it’s worked so well, we now make a daily practice of it. Our lives really have changed.

A terrific article and your advice is dead-on! A cheerful, positive attitude goes a long way to attract people who have the same outlook on life and they're much more fun to be around. Who really wants to be lower than a snake's belly in a wheel rut? Not me. Bad things do happen to everyone and, as you said, the memories don't disappear but I've found that the effects are diminished over time if I adopt a positive attitude. Will I feel bad about this in 10 years? Probably not so why feel bad now? It's just another lesson that I had to learn in this life so I accept it as that and don't dwell on it. Besides, time wounds all heels. The EFT chart is amazing and I'd urge everyone to download it and use it. I think we all have the power to change our outlook and this is an excellent tool. I also avoid anything that's negative or depressing such as watching CNN for hours on end. I'd rather watch something that makes me laugh. Besides, I look younger with a smile on my face. It must work because I was "carded" at the drug store and I'm almost 60! I laughed for 2 weeks and looked even younger. Thanks again for the great article! Lindsey

An excellant article with tips for all of us. Why not try to be a nicer person? If we all tried, and stuck to it, wouldn't our lives be changed by those around us? And what a nicer world we'd live in.

Dear Nice Guy, :-) Yes, you understand the very basics, and I'm sure you live them as well. Nice is an old fashioned, yet very applicable word that covers much of the complexities in many other writings. Nice surely attracts more nice, so go for it! Blessings, Judy

Thank you Judy for drawing the link between forgiving others and consequently forgiving ourselves in the process. Also expanding the Law of Attraction to include the Law of Resistance makes so much sense and fills in a blank! Thank you!

Dear Heather, Thank you for taking the time to respond. And for noticing the Law of Resistance. Yes, it is one that is not receiving much "press" these days, but it is indeed a powerful one. Really opposite to the Law of Attraction, and both are very powerful. It's just learning to be aware of what we are thinking, & making the choice to shift thoughts to something a little better, using the FEELING monitor as a guide. Does your thought feel good or not. CHOOSE to change it. Blessings, Judy
